Moe's Grill House!!

HEYYY! Today was a pretty chill day! I had tons of fun at school!! I woke up and went to class at 8:30am and after class Amanda introduced me to Rachell and Chris and we all went out to Moe's Grill for lunch!!! Yummy! At lunch, we met up with Chris's friend Joe and we all just had a grand ol time!
Today I was supposed to go to the set of SVU with Jill but my plans got ruined :/ I just came home and moped around and did nothing but stay mad which is why I'm writing this two days later. I really wish that I would've written it when Tuesday happened but I was too mad to do anything but now I regret it :/

Pretty much nothing else happened. Jill got to see Mariska and I sat home wishing that I would've gotten to go. I hope I can go soon... Have a great rest of the week.

Sweats & Crocs Monday

Hey! Today I awoke for class in good spirits... I just didn't feel like getting dressed. I was so lazy! I just showered and threw on some sweats and crocs and I was out.
So I waited, waited, and waited for my bus to get to my 9:30 class... It was extremely late. So when the bus finally gets to my stop, it was crowded as hell. Usually when a bus is as crowded as mine was, the bus driver is supposed to flick on the "Next bus please" sign until a reasonable amount of people exit the bus and there's more room for other passengers to board.... Why in the world does my bus driver continue to stop at each stop, not even just to let people off, TO LET MORE ON!!! Mind you, I'm already late for class and this driver wanna play bus games! AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! So as I'm sitting on this bus, I hear people moaning and groaning, another woman yelling into her phone to whoever on the other end cursing the bus driver out, people yelling from the back to the front that he needs to stop picking people up, people telling others to shut up, people smelling like they didn't brush their teeth this morning and genitals in my face..... With all of this happening, I made it to my class earlier than I expected. I got to class at 9:46. I have to walk through these creepy tunnels to pretty much get to all of my classes and I'm not happy about it because I feel claustrophobic in them! :X

As I walked in to my Bio Lab class with the brightest smile on my face I look around only to realize that all of the good seats are taken! D: I sat down with my heavy bag that contained two texts and got busy. It turned out not to be as bad as I thought it would be. My professor was cool, I met my lab partner Elizabeth, and I didn't feel horrible about being a little late after I saw 2 or 3 people come in ten times later than I did.

After my 2hr45min lab class was over at 10:45am, I went to the bus stop to go home because my next class wouldn't be until 5pm! I'm waiting and waiting on my bus and I see this kid that had the same idea as me when he woke up this morning... CROCS & SWEATS!... Well he had on pajama pants, but he was almost there.

Not sure if you can see him... I can't... back to my bus... it finally arrives.... Late. Atleast it wasn't as crowded as it was this morning! Get it together NICE!!!  Got on the bus and the next bus stop after mine, a few kids from my high school graduating class boarded! I got a little excited because I finally knew a few people and I didn't have to take the bus ride home alone! So Natasha, I'Keyla and myself had a pretty good conversation for the way home! When we parted I walked home and when I got there made a bagel lol. I was soooo hungry! I chillaxed for awhile and then Angie came over! We both had evening classes so we figured that we'd leave together in the midst of relaxing I find out that SVU is filming tomorrow evening! I really wanna go! I called my mom up, begged her and told her I'd be home by 12am if she let me go and she agreed and told me that if I wasn't home by that time, she would never let me go into the city on a school night again... Seems reasonable right? So I flip out in pure joy that I'm going to set! This is so important to me because this may be the last chance that I have to see the cast of SVU!!! After I have my little freak out fest, Angie and I head off for the bus stop. Of course the MF bus is late again!!! No surprise! We wait, and wait , and wait, and voila a late bus appears! We board the bus and get to school. We separate and go to our classes. I'm late to my class once again but I really didn't mind. This was the class that Prof. R taught(refer to the blogpost entitled "Professor R if you're lost). I showed up and once again all the good seats are taken D: I'm making a vow to start showing up to my classes atleast 15mins early to get a good seat!!! That class lasted the next 45min that I was there wasn't that bad and I kinda enjoyed it.

So after class my sister picks me up from school and we head home. Here are a few shots of whatever as the sun was setting.
And another....
When I got home I found myself rethinking of going to the city tomorrow.... Like I want to, but school is way more important. I wouldn't get home til late and I'll probably have homework to do. I would love to see Mariska one more time before the last season of SVU ends but if I fuck up and fail class that's my ass right there. And I'm paying for this shit! I don't think I'll go.... But I REALLY WANT TO!! D: I dunno what I'll do. Hopefully my mind is made up in the morning. I'll blog about what happens tomorrow! Hope everyone had a blessed day!

Gina Grant.

Hey! Today was another good day at NCC!! I woke up, and hopped the bus with Angie for our 9:30am classes. We got to the school at around 8:50ish and chillaxed! While doing so a few people ran into us such as I'Keyla, Yvonne, Neko, Bobby, Jocelynn, Jannie, and our newest coolest friend of the bunch.... AMANDA!!! We all sat and talked for a bit and then headed off to our classes. My first class was Sociology with Amanda! Angie and I met Amanda in the elevator on our first day of classes! As soon as she expressed how hot it was in the elevator and I laughed and agreed, I knew we'd be friends instantly! And it just so happened that we had the same class Tuesday! Our professor for Sociology is Prof. Costello! It was awesome that I was able to stay awake especially since we talked about something very interesting today! It was this woman named Gina Grant. I can't explain her story as good as my professor did, so I just grabbed what I could from on line. Here you go, a look into my sociology class today...

Gina Grant (born 1976) is an American woman who gained notoriety for receiving early admission to Harvard University, only to have it rescinded when it became known that she had killed her mother and had omitted this fact from her college application.

Background Gina Grant was the daughter of Charles Grant and Dorothy Mayfield, both of whom lived in Lexington, South Carolina. She had one sister, who was 9 years older than she was. Gina's father died of lung cancer when Gina was 11 years old.

1990 killing and aftermath At the time of her crime, Grant was a juvenile so as per the law pertaining to minors, the criminal records are sealed. However, the Lexington County sheriff, James Metts - who handled the original case - released Grant's name immediately after her arrest. Thus, the facts of the case are available in copious newspaper and magazine articles published in the early 1990s.

On September 13, 1990 in Lexington, South Carolina, the 14-year old Grant bludgeoned her mother thirteen times with a crystal candlestick, crushing her skull. She mopped up pools of blood from the kitchen floor and hid the candlestick and bloody rags in a closet. She then tried to make the death look like suicide by sticking a carving knife into the side of her mother's neck, and wrapping her mother's fingers around the handle.

Grant changed her story several times. Initially, she told police that her mother attacked her while holding a knife and then stabbed herself in the throat. When the candlestick was discovered, Grant changed her story, eventually telling the police that she had committed the killing in self-defense. She was charged with murder.

In mitigation, evidence suggested that Grant's mother was an alcoholic. Gina claimed that her mother had been physically abusive, which her sister attested to. Grant pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to a year in juvenile detention, with probation until age 18. Her boyfriend pleaded no contest to being an accessory to voluntary manslaughter after the fact and served nearly a year in juvenile detention.

Grant was given permission by the juvenile court to relocate to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to live with a paternal aunt and uncle. She began attending Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in 1992, where she excelled academically, tutored impoverished children, and was co-captain of the tennis team.

Admissions revocations Grant's crime became the subject of national headlines when, in January 1995, she was given early admission to Harvard University. She also reportedly told her Harvard interviewer that her mother had died in an accident. Her lawyer later argued that educational institutions are forbidden by Massachusetts state law to ask about criminal matters that do not result in "convictions". Juveniles found guilty are "adjudicated delinquent" rather than "convicted".

After Grant was featured in an April 2 Boston Globe Sunday Magazine article about disadvantaged students who succeeded despite their circumstances, an anonymous party faxed Harvard and The Globe copies of old news articles about the murder. The next day, Harvard rescinded Grant's admission, though the college did not comment on the specific reasons for rescission, citing several possible reasons. Although Grant requested a meeting with the admissions committee to discuss their decision, Harvard refused to grant her access.

So basically after hearing this story, our professors question to us was, did Harvard make the right decision to revoke Gina's application due to something that happened when she was a minor? There was a box on Gina's application that she checked no. The question asked her if she had ever been separated from learning facilities. Gina's acceptance to Harvard was takend away because she wasn't truthful about it. I believe that she gave that answer because while she was in the Juvenile Home she was still being taught. So that was the class long discussion and it was interesting to see what other people thought.

I got out of sociology at 10:45 and my next class wasn't until 12:30. Amanda and I decided that we were gonna go off campus to grab something to eat because we refused to pay for over priced food there. We waited for Angie and we were out! We drove to MCD and ate there, had some good food and conversations and learned more about each other! Then it was time to go back and Amanda dropped us off at the school, I walked Angie to the library, and then went to my Psychology class that was 2hr45min here's a selfie that I took during break time lol

Class started and I felt like I was there forever. I started to learn about different types of psychologists etc. I like that class but I know that and sociology is going to be an overload on my brain! I know I can do it though! I wish I had more pictures to share with y'all from today, wait I have one!

MY BROTHER CAME HOME TO VISIT TODAY!!!! As happy as I am that he isn't here at home getting himself into trouble, I kinda miss his annoying self! I'm proud of him and I know he's accomplishing alot in Job Corps! I love you giant! Keep on making me proud!! Oh and here's a little bit of Squish ;)
That's it! I'm out folks! Goodnight! :-*

Professor R.

So my second day of classes was like D: My first class was a morning class from 8:00am-10:45am. I went to sleep so late and awoke at 2am restless for unspecified reasons... With this having happened, I was forced to pop a "No Doz" pill to stay awake in my 2hr45min Chemistry class. To top that, I woke up sneezing with a runny/stuffy nose, watery & itchy eyes. I'm not complaining about my morning because it wasn't what I would define as "horrible" but it could have gone better if I changed a few things such as going to bed earlier.... And I still looked fucking fabulous!!! Puffy eyes and all! ;)

After my first class I was on my way to the math department to see if my evening class was still on. Today classes after "5:01" are cancelled because of Rosh Hashshanah/Yom Kippur one of those things. But apparently my class isn't an "evening class" because it starts at 5:00pm what type of mess is that?! Lol. Anywho, I was advised to go check with my professor because some professors had cancelled their 5pm classes. I walked around looking like a lost puppy not able to find "Professor Staff" because there was no such person by the name of "Professor Staff" I was perplexed when I came to realization because that's what my schedule had said.  Next to "Introduction to Statistics" there was the last name "Staff", I'll tell you all how this came about....

So there I stood on the 3rd floor of building B in the mathematics department walking back and forth throught the corridors for damn near a half hour looking for the office door that said "Prof. Staff" while all of professors and staff laughed with each other. Taking my last stroll down the hall to make sure I hadn't missed a door, a woman walks out of her office, she asks me if I'm looking for someone because she had seen me walk back and forth so many times and I looked like I was lost. I told her that I was looking for a Prof. Staff and handed her my schedule, she giggled and told me that there wasn't a Prof. Staff and that it just said "Staff" where the professors name should've been because my schedule was printed before the college had set a  professor for that class. She then proceeded to walk me to the help dept. for math and then and there is where I found out who my professor was. I don't know how to pronounce or spell his name, so right now I'll call him Prof. R!

So I after I knew who my professor was, I proceeded to his office "3089" only to find out he wasn't there and he had a 12:30 class and wouldn't be on campus til around that time. D: I really wanted to wait but I just couldn't because I needed to head out for... A JOB INTERVIEW!!!! :D  my interview was at 2pm and I wouldn't have enough time to get there if I waited on my professor to get in. I left and I went looking for the bus I was supposed to take to get there. On the way there I stopped at my favorite water fountain on campus! It's just so purty!
Here's a selfie of course!
Here's the fountain
After I sat by the fountain for a few, I finally went to wait for the bus that I needed to take to get to my interview. When I walked into the supermarket I looked around for someone that might look like a manager (i.e. a different color shirt or different clothing) I found the woman named Carol that I had spoken to the previous day. She was the one who told me to come in today at 2pm. She asked me to have a seat and wait for her and I did so. She finally came back to me,not after too long and asked me a few questions. She seemed like she really didn't have time to give me her attention. She then explained that there was someone on their way from the sanitation dept to come and inspect and that's when I realized that my interview was going to have to be rescheduled. I rescheduled it and I was on my way back to my school for my evening class.

I got to my school and I had a whole 3hrs for leisure time. I decided to go to the library to charge my phone which had like 5% at the time, and on my way there I bumped into Elias!!!!! Elias has been a good friend of mine since 11th grade! He has never failed to make me laugh and we always have interesting conversations when we see each other! It was so good to catch up with him! I wish that I'd gotten a picture with him but I probably talked too much until it was time for him to go to his class! Haha! In honor of me not getting a picture with him, I'll post one that we took senior year!
Stay awesome friend!!! Hope to see you on campus again very soon!

From the moment he left I spent the rest of my time in the library until about 4:00. My mom called me to inform me that there had been an opening for another Statistics class for an earlier time so I wouldn't have to wait from 10:45 to 5:00 to go to class. I went to registrar, saw my cousin Bri there and waited on line with my add/drop form filled out ready to change classes. After about 10 minutes of me being in line , my mother called me again and told me that she feels that I should stay with the Statistics class that I already have because the professor(Professor R) had better ratings than the one I was going to add to my schedule. Got off line, went back into the library and waited for 4:45.

As I'm waiting, there was this obnoxious noise coming from some part of the building I guess. Obnoxious it was but it really didn't bother me in the two hours that it continuously went on and off. Some guy came over to near where I was sitting and asked me if the noise would stay on and if so for how long because he had been trying to study in another part of the library but it was too loud. I told him that I wasn't sure and apologized.... The reaction he gave me after me doing so, is the same one a few different people give me. He said to me, "Did you just say sorry?" I said "Uhh...yeahhh.." He goes, "Why? You don't have anything to be sorry for, you havent done anything." Then I tried my best to explain to him that it's just a force habit for me to say sorry when things aren't going right I guess. For instance, if Sally asked me for an extra pen in class, I would say something along the lines of "I don't have one, I'm sorry."Or if Johnny asked me if I knew when the next bus would arrive, would say "No, I'm just here waiting for it. I'm sorry.." Like I don't know why I say it so much. Maybe it's because that's all I've heard my whole life when things didn't go as planned. It was always "I'm sorry Rodjaney." Or "Thats not fair! I'm so sorry!" People have told me that so much in my life especially in the last 8 years.... I remember wanting to go on a trip in 4th grade with my class and this is one of the first "Im sorry"'s that I remember getting from someone...

"Mom, my 4th grade class is going on a trip to DC for some days, here's the permission slip and description of it. It's like $600 but you don't have to pay it at once. My teacher says you can pay it in intrevals(I remember not being able to repeat that word no matter how much my teacher drilled it into our heads so we could go back and tell our parents) can I? Please?", "I'm sorry I don't have $600 right now..." Do you think I went on that trip or nah?

Like sorry is not even a word to me, hence me still saying it at everything. I don't like when people apologize to me, but I still do it. That word to me, doesn't have it's meaning anymore especially if you've done me wrong. I'll most likely continue to tell people sorry but I will try to control it more, especially after today... Continuing with my day.....

When it hit 4:45 I started to head off to my math class that began at 5pm. When I got into my class there were a few students there, no Prof R. I remember looking at the clock and it was 4:57 and I said to the girl next to me "3 more minutes til class" I think I was the only excited one there #FreshmanStruggles! 5:00 hit, no Prof R.... Then 5:10, still no Prof R. Mind you the whole time the class was silent as ever until one student spoke up around 5:12... I guess there's a rule that if your professor isn't there after 15 minutes you could leave? Well that's what the kid said. He stated that he wouldn't wait any longer on the professor after 5:20 so we all decided that since we wanted to leave that it would be best if we started an attendance sheet and after everyone signed it, I took it to the head of the math dept. and I went home.

So let's sum everything up... I had Chemistry from 8am-10:45am then I had an interview at 2pm that lasted like 20 minutes, went back to the school waited for NUMEROUS HOUR for my 5pm class only for my professor not to show up.... Kick ass day right? Yeah I know! That's just a day in the life of RODJANEYYYYYY! Thanks for reading about my day guiseeeee! Look forward to sharing every other day with y'all! GOODNIGHT!

Lazy bones.

So I forgot to blog about my first day... Boy am I lazy or what?
I guess I'll just post a few selfies and call it a day.
That's Angie and I. We've known each other
since elementary school and we've been through a lot
I honestly have no idea why she still puts up with me an
my mood swings! She's the one person that I can
truly call my sister. All them other hoes from high
school are a "zero on the left" as my chem professor
would say. Haha. I love her!
this is a very blurry picture of part of the food court
that I got extremely excited to see!!! Ahh Inwas the
happiest person on campus when I walked up
in there!!
Now is the time where I insert the text that I sent
everyone when they asked about my first day. R
This text was originally sent to Teresa, but I got
very lazy when everyone else asked so it got copy
and pasted a few times. Here's how my first day
went.

My first day of school was pretty cool!!
I was late to my first class which was Chemistry. It started at 8:30-9:45 and
I got there at around 8:50 :X what
happened was I got lost lol. My second
class was Sociology it was at 10:00-
11:15! I like my prof alot! And the good
thing about that class is that the text
book isn't mandatory. He says that if
we understand the material there's
really no reason for us to buy a text
book. After that there was "club hour"
which is every Tuesday and Thursday
from 11:15-12:30 I think. In between
those hours and my third and last class
of the day, I went to get my ID card,
get something to eat, and look through the
library and bookstore for my books I
needed. Oh and a girl from my high
school was with me during that time.
My last class was at 2:30-3:45 and
that was Biology II. That class is my
only class so far that's in a lecture hall.
After that my mom came from work to
meet me in the bookstore to drop $500
on my books and lab materials D: then
we went to staples to look for some
stuff I needed but it was really crowded
so we left and came home. That's how
my first day went! I loved it! AND A
WHAT A SURPRISE I GOT WHEN I GOT
HOME!!!! :D KYLEN IS WALKING!!!

Goodnight all. Until tomorrow! :)
